Bristol police officers made three arrests connected to domestic incidents from Dec. 28 to Jan. 3, as shown in excerpts from the log of Bristol Police activities (see below).

Monday, Dec. 28

After a woman notified police that her husband was “out of control” at 7:36 p.m., officers arrested Carlos A. Medeiros, 41, of 409 Metacom Ave., Bristol. He was charged with domestic disorderly conduct, arraigned at the station and released.

A Charles Street resident reported damage to the holiday lights outside of her home at 8:47 p.m.

A tipster notified police about a Subaru driven by a possibly impaired driver in the area of Prospect Street at 9:45 p.m. Officers checked the area but did not find any problems.

A Duffield Road resident called police about an injured dog in their backyard at 10:54 p.m.

Tuesday, Dec. 29

At 7:30 a.m. a resident reported a sick fox in the area of Kickemuit Avenue and Smith Street. It was gone when an officer arrived.

A North Lane resident reported receiving a suspicious letter requesting money.

An officer spoke to two people who were panhandling along Metacom Avenue at 2:35 p.m.

A Charles Street resident called back to report that more of their holiday lights had been damaged since the day before.

A Prospect Street resident reported that someone was banging on her door at 11 p.m. She said a man left the area in a white Chevy before officers arrived.

Wednesday, Dec. 30

At 12:25 a.m., officers checked out two vehicles that were left with their interior lights on — one on State Street, one on Thompson Avenue.

An expired deer was found in the middle of Metacom Avenue at 5:38 a.m. Bristol Police notified DEM.

A resident on Courageous Circle called at 1:37 p.m. to complain about neighbors cutting down trees without a permit. An officer responded and learned that the tree was damaged during a recent storm and was being cut down as a result.

A resident complained to police about boulders being placed near the intersection of Platt Street and Coggeshall Avenue. An officer advised them to contact the town’s code enforcement officer.

An officer dispersed a red Toyota and its occupants from the area of Gibson Road at 6 p.m.

Thursday, Dec. 31

A resident called to complain about someone honking a car horn at 12:24 a.m. on Linden Street.

A resident notified police about loud noise coming from a residence on Linden Street at 12:24 a.m.

An officer spoke to the driver of a silver Subaru who was reportedly driving recklessly and cutting off vehicles while driving south on Metacom Avenue at 5:26 p.m.

Officers investigated a report that a man was chasing a woman in the area of Magnolia and Franklin streets at 10:15 p.m. Witnesses in the area said the man was driving a silver Prius and left the area before officers arrived.

An officer spoke to residents on Rosita Avenue after a report of loud music at 11:16 p.m.

Officers dispersed people from Mt. Hope High School at 11:49 p.m.

An officer advised residents to extinguish an open burning on Reid Street at 11:49 p.m.

Officers dispersed a man from High Street after calling rescue to the scene at 11:59 p.m.

Friday, Jan. 1

Officers responded to a St. Elizabeth Street apartment at 12:22 a.m. after a neighbor reporting hearing a woman asking for her phone back. There were no arrests.

A caller reported hearing cars revving their engines and making a lot of noise outside of a Linden Street residence at 2:51 a.m. Officers responded and found no problems at that time.

An officer spoke to residents on Congregational Street after a complaint of loud music at 3:20 a.m.

A Providence man was taken into custody in Barrington and transferred to Bristol on an active warrant at 4:08 a.m. Jeffrey Silvia Jr., 21, of Providence, was charged with domestic assault, arraigned at the station and released.

Officers spoke with a group of 10 young men who were playing football without wearing masks on Sweeney Lane at 1 p.m. Officers were called back to the same area at 3:06 p.m. for another report of the group playing football, but they did not find any problems.

Officers dispersed a group of juveniles from an area of Magnolia Street at 4:49 p.m.

Officers were called to Redic Court at 9:21 p.m. for a domestic disturbance. A child notified police that their mother and fiancé were reportedly arguing. Police were called back to the residence the next morning (see below).

Saturday, Jan. 2

At 9:42 a.m., officers were called to 1 Redic Ct. for a report of a mother and boyfriend fighting. Durval J. Cordeiro, 50, of that address was taken into custody and charged with one count of domestic assault, resisting arrest and two counts of simple assault. He was arraigned and taken to the ACI (see separate story).

A Kingswood Road resident reported loud bangs in the area at 11:34 a.m. Officers responded but found nothing unusual.

Sunday, Jan. 3

Someone who had been walking in the woods near the Mt. Hope Boat Ramp at 9:51 a.m. reported hearing possible gun shots.

A caller reported juveniles not social distancing at the town beach and sports complex at 1:04 p.m. They were gone when an officer arrived.

An officer investigated illegal dumping on Siegel Street at 2:42 p.m.
