Bristol Police: Man arrested for felony domestic assault

The Bristol Police Department handled numerous calls about noisy neighbors and made one arrest for felony domestic assault from March 16 to 22.

Monday, March 16

Officers responded to a noise complaint on Lafayette Drive at 9:23 p.m.

Officers questioned a man who was seen walking in the roadway at Annawamscutt and Tilbury drives at 10:46 p.m. and appeared intoxicated. He told them he was waiting for an Uber ride.

Tuesday, March 17

A Tilbury Drive resident was advised to stop burning cardboard at 7:10 p.m.

A caller reported seeing a man dressed all in black looking inside cars on Rock Street at 9:51 p.m.

Wednesday, March 18

Officers called for rescue to evaluate a man at the corner of Hope and Washington streets at 3:28 a.m.

A caller reported a group of four men harassing people inside Colt State Park at 5:38 p.m. DEM was notified.

An officer dispersed people from a basketball court at the town beach at 6:31 p.m.

Thursday, March 19

Brian Silva, 31, of 2 Melrose Drive, Bristol, was picked up on a warrant for violation of a domestic violence no-contact order.

A caller complained about loud talking outside of a Robin Drive residence at 10:36 p.m.

Friday, March 20

A caller reported a man drinking at Narrows Point at 1:34 p.m.

A caller reported a black sedan with youths harassing elderly people at Colt State Park at 2:23 p.m.

A Robin Drive caller complained about neighbors being loud at 10:34 p.m. An officer responded and found no problem; two people were outside grilling.

Saturday, March 21

Officers were called to disperse a large group of people at Linden Place who had gathered for a wedding party photo shoot at 1:46 p.m. The group left the museum and moved to Colt State Park before officers arrived, and police notified DEM.

A King Philip Avenue resident called police to complain about a large and loud gathering of people in the rear yard of a neighboring property at 4:32 p.m. A patrolman responded and found no problem — there were five people in the yard playing cornhole.

An officer was called to the area of Mt. Hope Avenue and Siegel Street for a group of 4-5 people arguing in the roadway at 4:42 p.m.

A Cooke Street resident complained of loud music at 10:12 p.m.

An officer advised Kinsmen Tavern to turn down music at 11:06 p.m.

A resident complained of loud music on Wilson Street at 11:19 p.m.

Sunday, March 22

Officers and rescuers responded to Reid Street after a report of a head injury at 1:52 p.m. Charles C. Conklin, 59, of 5 Reid St., Bristol, was charged with felony domestic assault.
