Bristol Police: DUI, underage drinking and urinating in public

Bristol police officers arrested one person for driving under the influence and cited several young adults for  possession of alcohol and urinating in public, in incidents from Nov. 18 to 24.

Monday, Nov. 18

Officers responded to Mt. Hope High School at 12:15 p.m. for a disturbance and arrested two students. One was a 15-year-old charged with disorderly conduct, the other was Deven White, 18, of 29 Anthony Ave., Bristol, also charged with disorderly conduct.

An officer dispersed a vehicle and its occupants from Lower Ferry Road at 10:29 p.m.

Tuesday, Nov. 19

Officers responded to Coelho Park off Jenny Lane at 12:06 a.m. to assess an argument between a man and woman. There were no arrests, and an officer transported one of the pair from the scene.

An officer questioned a driver who was parked and sleeping in their vehicle along Metacom Avenue at 1:33 a.m. There were no problems; the driver was taking a rest.

Safeway Auto contacted police after a customer failed to return a rental vehicle.

A resident on Washington Street reported graffiti at 5:33 p.m.

An officer advised residents at a State Street residence who had a fire in the back yard at 6:22 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 20

Officers dispersed a disorderly customer from Cumberland Farms on Metacom Avenue at 11:29 a.m.

A State Street resident reported vandalism to their vehicle at 12:19 p.m.

Thursday, Nov. 21

Someone reported a suspicious person driving a PT Cruiser and looking into homes on Gray Street at 7:41 a.m. An officer responded and found it was someone waiting to pick up a co-worker.

Someone called police to report a suspicious van on Sunset Road, with an operator who was taking pictures of homes. An officer investigated and found it was a contractor taking pictures for prospective clients.

An 18-year-old was cited for underage possession of alcohol at Bristol Liquors at 6:19 p.m.

An 18-year-old was cited for underage possession of alcohol at Mt. Hope Liquors at 7:17 p.m.

An officer took a report of a past assault on Butterworth Avenue at 8:29 p.m.

An officer questioned a small group of people who were loitering near the intersection of Ferry Road and Wood Street at 9:47 p.m. There were no problems; it was a group of Roger Williams students waiting for a university shuttle.

Friday, Nov. 22

Two 21-year-old men were cited for urinating in public on John Street at 12:08 a.m.

Officers dispersed two people from the area of Thames and Church streets at 12:39 a.m.

Officers took a report of a fight at Gillary’s Taphouse at 12:56 a.m.

Officers dispersed three men from the area of Wood Street and Mt. Hope Avenue at 1:11 a.m.

Officers responded to Congregational Street after a caller reported a man had knocked on their door at 1:15 a.m. and then attempted to gain entry into the home. They called rescue to the scene.

Roger Williams security officers called Bristol officers to campus to assist with removal of narcotics from a room at 2:48 a.m.

Someone reported a bicycle stolen from the intersection of Hope and High streets.

An 18-year-old was cited for underage possession of alcohol at Bristol Liquors at 6:59 p.m. Officers conducted several more ID checks at both Bristol Liquors and Mt. Hope Liquors over the next couple of hours but did not arrest anyone.

Officers arrested Megan L. Zeitler, 30, of 5 Chilton St., Bristol, on a warrant from Warren Police at 11:02 p.m. Warren officers drove to the Bristol station to pick her up.

Saturday, Nov. 23

Meagan E. Freeman, 29, of Warwick, R.I., was charged with DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test after a traffic stop along Metacom Avenue at 3:24 a.m.

A caller reported a loud group of people on Lafayette Drive at 11:34 a.m. They had left before officers arrived.

A caller complained of a house party on Mt. Hope Avenue at 1:08 p.m.

An officer dispersed a man from the corner of Wood and Roma streets at 3:19 p.m.

A caller complained of loud music on Goulart Avenue at 9:30 p.m. An officer responded and spoke to the residents.

Sunday, Nov. 24

A caller complained of people yelling in the roadway in the area of Wood Street and Bay View Avenue at 2:39 a.m. Officers responded and found no one.
