Bristol Police: DUI and disorderly, stolen packages and loose rooster

Bristol police officers made a few arrests, one for DUI, one for disorderly conduct, during incidents between Oct. 18 and 24.

Monday, Oct. 18

A Deer Run Road resident called police to report that his computer had been hacked.

Police were called about a loose rooster on Belcourt Avenue at 2:40 p.m.

An Etelvina Court resident reported stolen trash bins at 3:15 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 19

A man was dispersed from the Robin Drive area after a report that he was walking through yards at 12:13 a.m.

Porter S. White-O’Brien, 25, of Westport, Mass., was charged with a District Court warrant after being taken into custody at 1:32 a.m.

A Varnum Street resident called police with the belief that someone had broken into her house, as she heard noises in the basement at 9:05 a.m.

Someone complained of noise from Mt. Hope High School, the results of delivery trucks before 6 a.m.

A Normand Street resident reported a missing trash can at 3:12 p.m.

A Robin Drive resident reported vandalism to a vehicle.

A Marie Drive resident reported stolen packages at 8:12 p.m.

Wednesday, Oct. 20

At 6:02 a.m., a caller reported a woman crying excessively while waking past Colt School. An officer caught up to her and provided assistance.

After a report that a man was banging on the door of a Wood Street location and trying to contact someone in violation of a no-contact order, officers arrived and arrested Derek J. Bouchard, 34, of 62 Catherine St., Bristol. He was charged with domestic disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana. He was taken to the station, arraigned by a justice of the peace and transported to the ACI.

An officer spoke to those responsible after a complaint about loud music in the area of Chestnut and Naomi streets at 5:04 p.m.

Someone called police to report juveniles skateboarding on the tennis courts at the Town Common at 5:55 p.m. They were gone when an officer arrived.

Someone called to report an unwanted man at a Sowams Drive location at 8:52 p.m.

Thursday, Oct. 21

Jacqueline R. Sousa, 32, of 8 Gorham Place, Bristol, was charged with driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test after a traffic stop along Thames Street at 12:01 a.m.

An officer spoke to residents in a Bay View Avenue apartment after a complaint about loud music at 1:38 a.m. Subjects were advised to turn off the music after they were found outside on a balcony.

Officers caught up with and dispersed three males who were allegedly fighting along High Street at 1:07 p.m.

Police were called to Rockwell School regarding a disorderly parent at 2:38 p.m. The parent had calmed down by the time officers arrived.

Police were called to Reid Street for a domestic disturbance and a report of a male inside a bedroom with a weapon at 5:19 p.m. There turned out to be no weapon, and there were no arrests.

Friday, Oct. 22

Officers were called to Tower Street at 1:11 a.m. after a report about subjects allegedly harassing a Lyft driver. It was reportedly a dispute about how many people could ride in the vehicle.

A Heritage Road resident complained about a landscape company that repeatedly trespasses in his yard.

A Robin Drive resident reported vandalism to an automobile at 11:10 a.m.

Rescue was called to the area of Hope and Bradford streets after a report of two males either arguing or fighting at 6:22 p.m.

Saturday, Oct. 23

An officer talked to a construction crew after a complaint about noise in the area of State and Second streets at 7:38 a.m.

An officer spoke to someone on Meadow Lane after a complaint about loud music at 7:22 p.m.

A Verdi Lane caller reported a car that kept driving by, beeping and yelling at 8:25 p.m.

Officers were called to investigate a report of a large gathering with loud music on Meadow Lane at 8:30 p.m. They found no live music and just a small group in the backyard. They were called back to Meadow Lane at 9:13 p.m. and again found no music playing.

Someone complained about loud music on John Street at 10:40 p.m. Officers found no band, no DJ and windows and doors closed.

Sunday, Oct. 24

Someone reported a man using a motorized bike, heading north on the East Bay Bike Path, using vulgar language to others in the Highlands area of town at 1:10 p.m. Officers did not locate him.

Multiple callers reported a man standing in the center span of the Mt. Hope Bridge, on the outer edge. Police contacted the R.I. Turnpike and Bridge Authority, which checked its cameras and stated that the man was on a bike and had crossed over to the Portsmouth side.

Someone called police with a complaint about an open burning on Monterey Road at 6:21 p.m. A patrolman found a fire contained to a fire pit.

Officers were called to Rock Street at 6:39 p.m. after a woman reported her ex-boyfriend was there and refused to leave.

Officers made an arrest after being called by a man who said he was being followed by people from Providence and he planned on walking over the Mt. Hope Bridge at 10:13 p.m. Kyle R. Laferriere, 30, homeless, was charged on a Superior Court warrant and taken to court the next day.
