Bristol PD broke up multiple loud parties in addition to assisting residents and a cat on the bike path between Oct. 10-17, 2022.

Bristol police disperse more loud parties, make arrests

Monday, Oct. 10
A Chestnut Street resident reported a missing political sign from their front yard at 8:20 a.m.

Damage to construction equipment was reported on Sunrise Drive at 10:06 a.m.

A caller reported that items were removed from a gravesite at St. Mary’s Cemetery at 10:40 a.m.

The harbormaster responded to a yellow kayak that appeared to be in distress near the Mt. Hope Bridge as it was headed in the direction of Fall River at 11:25 a.m. The kayaker was able to make it to shore where Portsmouth authorities stood by to help.

A caller on Roosevelt Drive reported at 4:48 p.m. that there were young children walking into the roadway selling bracelets and stopping vehicles. Police didn’t find anything at the scene.

Police assisted a person walking over the Mt. Hope Bridge with a lift at 6:22 p.m.

Tuesday, Oct. 11
Two reports of loud music coming from John Street came in at 12:58 a.m. and 2:10 a.m. The party was advised to quiet down.

Someone reported that a person was going door-to-door suspiciously in the area of Dimond Avenue at 11:34 a.m. but police found no one in the area.

Wednesday, Oct. 12
Police dispersed a vehicle from Hope and State Streets at 12:58 a.m.

DEM was advised of a deer that was either injured or deceased at 8:49 a.m. on Courageous Circle.

A Catherine Street resident reported at 12:01 p.m. that items were being thrown on their yard.

Police dispersed a man who was yelling at customers at 1:38 p.m. at a Metacom Avenue business.

Jamie Roger Costa, 27, of Bristol, was arrested following an incident on Court Street at 10:49 p.m. He was charged with domestic violence (vandalism, first offense). He was arraigned and released.

Thursday, Oct. 13
More loud people were reported on John Street at 1:21 a.m. but police found nothing in the area.

Police dispersed a man who was yelling at passing motorists near Metacom and Gooding Avenues at 11:27 a.m.

Police dispersed a panhandler from Hope Street who was asking for money from bank customers at 2:06 p.m.

DPW was alerted to a clogged sewer drain resulting in partial flooding near High and Washington Streets at 9:08 p.m.

Friday, Oct. 14
A report of narcotics was logged from Mt. Hope High School at 7:10 a.m.

Property damage to a vehicle was logged from San Juan Drive at 9:45 a.m.

A Sea Breeze Lane resident made a report at 9:54 a.m. regarding someone tampering with their vehicle.

A man reported that another man, who was barefoot, was harassing him on High Street at 10:01 a.m. Police eventually ordered a rescue and transported the suspect to Newport Hospital.

John C. Alves, 60, of Fall River, Mass. was arrested on a warrant and charged with second degree sexual assault and simple assault and/or battery. He was processed and released.

Police assisted in the retrieval of an injured cat on the bike path near Poppasquash Road at 5:15 p.m.

A dog was reported deceased on Wood Street following a vehicle collision at 5:46 p.m.

Police dispersed all guests from a Wood Street residence at 10:53 p.m. following the report of a loud party attended by Roger Williams University students.

Police received a report that approximately eight RWU students were knocking over trash bins on Thames Street around 11:16 p.m., but no one was found in the area.

Saturday, Oct. 15
Another report of RWU students knocking over trash bins was logged, this time at 12:04 a.m. in the area of Thames and State Street. Again, they were not located in the area.

A report of an ATV operating in the area of Roosevelt Drive was logged at 2:15 p.m. but police found nothing at the scene.

An expired raccoon was reported at Independence Park at 2:36 p.m.

Jason Wood, 47, of Bristol, was arrested following an incident on Thames Street at 11:01 p.m. He was charged with two counts of domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, and disorderly conduct, both first offenses).

Sunday, Oct. 16
A head-on crash involving vehicles near Franklin and High Streets was reported at 3:42 p.m. it resulted in multiple people being transported to the hospital.

A report indicated a man was urinating on the sidewalk somewhere on Hope Street at 8:19 p.m. He was advised to go back into his house for the night.

Monday, Oct. 17
Police dispersed two vehicles from the Mt. Hope Boat Ramp at 2:08 a.m.
