Bristol police officers made a handful of arrests from Jan. 13 to 19, including one for sexual assault and a couple for drug-related charges.
Monday, Jan. 13
Officers responded to the area of Viola’s Liquors on Wood Street shortly before 7 p.m., after a man stole a bottle and ran from the area. Witnesses said he was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and red bandana on his face, black pants and no shoes.
At 7:44 p.m., a caller told police that two men were running down Chilton Street toward Franklin Street, while wielding a bat and chasing another man. Officers responded and arrested Alejandro W. Flanagan, 27, of Warren. He was charged with possession of narcotics.
A Richmond Street caller reported a woman in a neighboring residence was screaming out a window at 8:10 p.m. When an officer arrived, there was no noise and the residence was dark.
Tuesday, Jan. 14
A caller reported a suspicious minivan driving through the area of Patricia Ann Drive at 4:05 a.m. It turned out to be a shuttle to the airport.
A resident reported a dog bite on Hamlet Drive at 6:16 p.m.
An officer dispersed a vehicle and its occupants from the front of the National Guard Armory building on Metacom Avenue at 10:13 p.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 15
At 5:55 p.m., a caller reported a man and woman arguing along Hope Street. Officers responded and took a man into custody. Zakeem J. Browne, 25, of 292 State St., Apt. 2, Bristol, was held at the station overnight, charged with domestic simple assault and domestic disorderly conduct, and taken to District Court in Providence for arraignment on Thursday morning.
Thursday, Jan. 16
At 10:18 a.m., Bristol Police served a warrant and arrested Ioan Pop, 61, of North Smithfield, on a charge of second-degree sexual assault (fondling). The defendant was held briefly and taken to District Court for arraignment.
An officer warned a dog owner about letting the canine run loose at the town beach area of Asylum Road at 11:22 a.m.
After someone reported being assaulted, officers found the suspect at home and arrested Paul M. Castigliego, 66, of 28 Sunnyside Ave., Bristol. He was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.
A Church Street resident reported damage to their building, caused by a landscaper.
Friday, Jan. 17
A caller from Tower Street reported damage to a vehicle.
Officers responded to Wood and Catherine streets at 3:36 p.m. and arrested David A. Pacheco, 28, of 254 Wood St., Apt. 1, Bristol. He was charged with breaking-and-entering a dwelling with the resident on the premises and larceny over $1,500. He was arraigned by a justice of the peace at the station and transported to the ACI.
Saturday, Jan. 18
John N. Davis, 43, of 631 Hope St., Bristol, was charged with possession of narcotics after being taken into custody at 1:28 a.m.
Following a reported domestic incident on Rock Street at 7:54 p.m., Bristol Police put out a BOLO (be on the lookout) requesting area units to search for an hold a potential suspect.
Sunday, Jan. 19
A caller reported seeing a woman talking loudly on her cell phone, possibly in distress, in the area of Mt. Hope and Fox Hill avenues at 2:14 p.m. She was gone when an officer arrived.
A caller reported seeing a green Saab driving in the center travel lane southbound on Metacom Avenue at 4:18 p.m.
