Bristol Police investigated multiple gas leaks and made three arrests this week.

Monday, Jan. 10
A deceased squirrel was reported at 4:14 p.m. near Wood Street and Bay View Avenue.

A caller on Tupelo Street reported at 7:33 p.m. that he was sitting in his office when he heard a noise and then noticed his front glass door had shattered. It was reported as an act of vandalism/property damage.

A caller reported at 11:00 p.m. that a recklessly driving motorist had tailgated and passed them as they approached the base of the Mt. Hope Bridge. The driver was given a warning.

Tuesday, Jan. 11
A stolen trash bin was reported on Sunnyside Avenue at 3:57 p.m.

Police investigated noise coming from a vacant apartment on Broadcommon Road at 11:40 p.m., and upon arrival noticed the heavy smell of gas in the area. National Grid was notified, responded, and the building was eventually secured.

Wednesday, Jan. 12
Robert Fox, 24, of Bristol, was arrested on a warrant charge at 9:50 a.m. on Robin Drive. He was transferred into the custody of Cumberland Police.

Bank fraud was reported on Pawtucket Avenue at 5:20 p.m.

Thursday, Jan. 13
National Grid was advised of another incident of the odor natural gas, this time in the area of Metacom Avenue at 12:47 a.m.

A cleaning company disturbed a resident on Wood Street by parking their van in a parking lot and making a ruckus at 3:36 a.m. They were advised of the complaint.

Identity theft was reported on Wapping Drive at 1:22 p.m.
A noticeable odor of gas was reported at 2:54 p.m. on Hope Street. National Grid found a leak when they responded.

A Metacom Avenue resident received help from police at 5:28 p.m. regarding a “neighbor snooping on [their] property.”

Friday, Jan. 14
Players of loud music were advised by police of a complaint at Church and Thames Street at 10:29 p.m.

Saturday, Jan. 15
Robert Stephenson, 46, of Bristol, was arrested at 1:21 a.m. following a domestic incident on Chilton Street in which a caller reporter their neighbor was “slashed in the neck by her boyfriend.” He was charged with three counts of domestic violence (felony assault and/or battery; simple assault and/or battery, second offense; and disorderly conduct, first offense), and domestic assault by strangulation. He was arraigned and transported to the ACI.

An expired animal was reported at 8:36 a.m. on Metacom Avenue.

Sunday, Jan. 16
A caller’s report at 1:31 p.m. indicated there were sparks coming from the top of a telephone pole at Ferry Road and Metacom Avenue, but officers did not observe such activity.

A report of an “intoxicated male abusing his dog” on Richmond Street was investigated by police at 7:39 p.m.

Monday, Jan. 17
Nicholas Tudino, 32, of North Providence, was arrested at 12:51 a.m. following a domestic incident on Thompson Avenue. He was charged with domestic violence (disorderly conduct, first offense), and domestic violence (simple assault and/or battery, first offense). He was arraigned and released later that morning.
