Bristol PD: A high school fight ends in two arrests

Monday, May 9
A caller on High Street reported at 11:27 a.m. that there was a suspicious man in the area taking photos.

Identify theft was reported on Terrace Drive at 11:50 a.m.

A solicitor for a solar company was reported by a resident and later informed about requiring a solicitation permit by police on Verdi Lane at 2:10 p.m.

Police dispersed a vehicle from Monkey Wrench Lane that had been lingering too long at 4:14 p.m.

The Bristol Fire Department extinguished a chimney fire on Collins Street at 4:26 p.m.

An injured turkey reported on Wood Street at 7:29 p.m. was found to be deceased when authorities checked on it.

Jamie Arlan, 42, of Bristol, was arrested following an incident on Wood Street at 9:41 p.m. He was charged with simple assault and/or battery (first offense) and was transported to district court.

Tuesday, May 10
People taking pictures at the Mt. Hope Bridge at 12:35 a.m. were dispersed by police.

An expired turkey on Wood Street was reported at 8:00 a.m. but it was not seen by responding authorities.

Police investigated what was reported at 12:34 p.m. as a possible domestic violence situation occurring in a car near Metacom Avenue and Broadcommon Road. It turned out to just be a verbal argument.

Two teenage juveniles at Mt. Hope High School were arrested following a fight that was reported at 2:25 p.m.

A caller reported there may be a sick horse located on Griswold Avenue at 4:50 p.m. Police reported the animal was just lying in the sun.

Domingo Elias Martinez Rodriguez, 25, of Pawtucket, was arrested on a warrant at 5:04 p.m. for a charge of first degree sexual assault.

Wednesday, May 11
A dog bite was reported Silver Creek Court at 2:54 p.m.

Police received a report at 3:27 p.m. that juveniles were being harassed by a middle aged female at the Town Common on Wood Street.

A neighborly dispute about using mothballs to deter a skunk causing a stench nuisance was mediated by police on Fernwood Road at 4:50 p.m.

A solicitor on Fatima Drive was reported at 5:10 p.m. but police did not locate the individual.

Thursday, May 12
Juveniles were reported in the roadway near Cliff Drive at 6:03 p.m. but were gone when police arrived.

Two people caused a stir on Mason Avenue at 11:22 p.m. when someone reported them climbing up the fire escape of a residence. It turns out they were allowed to be there, but they were advised to not use the fire escape as an entryway.

Friday, May 13
A caller on Metacom Avenue reported there was a cat trapped in a dumpster at 8:52 a.m. It was a good thing they didn’t check for themselves, because the animal control officer found out it was actually a raccoon.

A caller reported graffiti on the north side of the Bristol State House on High Street at 9:27 a.m.

A resident reported that a man was outside a residence on Church Street “yelling at himself” at 11:29 p.m. Police did not locate the man.

Saturday, May 14
A man was reported on the Town Common at 8:12 a.m. “holding a crowbar and red cup” and a second caller reported he was yelling and hitting trees. Police spoke with the individual and he agreed to return home.

Police reported a fight occurred on Mason Avenue at 9:22 a.m.

Sunday, May 15
A Coggeshall Avenue resident reported a hand print on their window at 10:37 a.m., and was unsure if somebody had tried to gain access to the residence.

A caller reported that someone was breaking bottles and causing damage at Coelho Park on Jenny Lane at 7:23 p.m. Police found no issues at the scene.

A resident on Tower Street told police at 7:31 p.m. that they believed people parked on the street may have been trying to poach deer. Police found it was just a man and a woman going for a walk.

Matthew Silva, 31, of Warwick, was arrested on a warrant at 8:48 p.m. near State and High Streets. He was charged with two superior court warrant violations.

Michael Brum, 51, of Bristol, was arrested following an incident on Church Street at 11:05 p.m. He was charged with vandalism and disorderly conduct (both first offenses). He was arraigned and transported to Rhode Island Hospital.

Monday, May 16
A caller reported at 12:54 a.m. that their friend was previously assaulted while walking somewhere on Bradford Street. A rescue was requested.

Police dispersed loudly talking men from a Metacom Avenue parking lot at 1:58 a.m.
