Bristol man charged with sexually assaulting Portsmouth woman

PORTSMOUTH — A 21-year-old Bristol man was arrested Jan. 9 and charged with sexually assaulting his ex-girlfriend from Portsmouth, police said.

Kevin Michael Medeiros, 21, of 10 Etelvina Court, was charged by Portsmouth Police with one count of first-degree domestic sexual assault.

According to the police report, the 19-year-old victim walked into the police station on Oct. 27, 2023.

“The victim explained sometime in the month of July while at the victim’s residence, the suspect held her down and (sexually) assaulted her,” police said. “Following further investigation by the Portsmouth Police Detective Division, the suspect was taken into custody.”

The arrest took place at a residence on Wampanoag Drive, according to police.

Medeiros was held at the station pending his arraignment, police said.

Monday, Jan. 8

Anthony A. Toppa III, 56, of 59 Easton Ave., was arrested at his home around 4:35 p.m. and charged with domestic assault. Police said a 46-year-old woman came to the police station and reported that Toppa had grabbed her by the wrist as he forcibly retrieved an SD memory card from her hands. Toppa was held at the police station pending his arraignment, police said.

Thursday, Jan. 11

Ryan Patrick Barker, 19, of 2970 Mendon Road, Apt. 35, Cumberland, was charged with cyberstalking and cyber-harassment, his second offense; and online impersonation, first offense. Following an investigation on a complaint, police determined that Barker had engaged in cyberstalking a 19-year-old woman who lives in Portsmouth, police said. An arrest was obtained and Barker was taken into custody at his home around 8:40 a.m. Through additional investigation, it was determined Barker had created a fake social media account using the victim’s name and image, according to police. 

Friday, Jan. 12

Rovonte O’Neil Calhoun, 29, of 418 Anthony St., Apt. 2, Fall River, was arrested around 3:45 p.m. on a 2nd District Court bench warrant. Calhoun was pulled over on West Main Road after he was spotted driving while using his cell phone, police said.

Saturday, Jan. 13

Wilfredo Feliciano, 69, of 160 John Duggan Road, Tiverton, was charged with driving under the influence (DUI), first offense, after being pulled over on Route 24 North on the Sakonnet River Bridge around 5:15 p.m. for committing multiple roadway violations, police said. He was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.

Sunday, Jan. 14

Nicholas Morgan Souza, 42, of 21 Cathy Circle, was arrested on a 2nd District Court bench warrant after being stopped on West Main Road around 12:10 p.m. for a moving violation, police said.

Rebecca E. Cottle, 41, of 14 Tower Hill Road, Tiverton, was charged with DUI, first offense, after being stopped on Route 24 North on the Sakonnet River Bridge for committing multiple roadway violations, police said. She was also cited for refusing to submit to a chemical test.
