Bertha E. (St. Angelo) Zeitler, age 94, passed away Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022, at Crestwood Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late Lawrence Zeitler.
Born and raised in Bristol, a daughter of the late John and Jessie (Cabral) St. Angelo, she was a lifelong resident of Bristol.
A graduate of Colt Memorial High School, she was a dedicated bookkeeper for her family’s businesses, St. Angelo Buick in Barrington and King Philip Motors in Bristol, for 76 years, retiring at the age of 92. Skilled with numbers, she enjoyed her long career. She enjoyed her crossword puzzles each day but most of all cooking for her whole family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Harmon (Robert Gordon) of Bristol; one son, John Zeitler (Sue) of Bristol; son-in-law, Robert Zutty; seven grandchildren, Susan O’Brien (Matthew), Michael Zutty (Christina), Erin Stebbins (Eric), Megan Zeitler, Johnna Zeitler (Ciprian “Chip” Ciubotaru), Rachel Harmon and Amy Harmon; four great-grandchildren, Avery and Dylan O’Brien, Zack and Zoey Zutty and Lydia and Jeremiah Stebbins, and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Jane Zutty and sister of the late John, George, James, Edward and Charles St. Angelo, Elsie Santoro, Lillian Parkin and Phoebe Hearson.
Her visitation will be Monday, Jan. 24, 2022, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. in the Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, 615 Main Street, Warren, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Bay Parish, 645 Main Street.
