Amelia “Emily” Pacheco, 94, of Bristol

Amelia “Emily” (Costa) Pacheco, 94, of Bristol passed away in Fall River, Mass., on Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2021. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Pacheco.

A life-long Bristolian, she was the daughter of the late Augustine and Theresa (Rodrigues) Costa.

Emily was a communicant of St. Elizabeth’s Church. She was an avid reader. Emily loved all things NASCAR.

Her memory will live on through her children: Theresa A. Hickey (Gary) and Joseph A. Pacheco, Jr. (Heidi); and her grandchildren: Hattie Pacheco (Emil Orm Jonsson), Michael Hickey, and Jaqueline Pacheco.

In addition to her husband Joseph and her parents, Emily was also pre-deceased by her siblings, Jack Costa and Hilda Granger.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Emily’s name can be made to John Clarke Retirement Center, 600 Valley Road, Middletown, RI 02842. Funeral services will be private.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
