A Warren man is facing charges after an incident at Police Cove Park early Tuesday morning, Aug. 27.
According to Barrington Police, an officer on routine patrol on County Road spotted two vehicles pull into the parking lot at Police Cove Park at about 1 a.m. on Aug. 27. Police said overnight parking is not allowed at the lot.
Police then approached the occupants of both vehicles and asked what the individuals were doing. The occupants allegedly told police they were just meeting friends at the lot. Police officers allegedly spotted a plastic bag containing what appeared to be marijuana inside one of the vehicles.
Police then searched the vehicles and allegedly found medication that had not been prescribed to the individuals inside the vehicles. Police then charged Desmond M. Williams, 21, of Warren, with two counts of possession of a schedule I, II, III, IV or V controlled substance.
Police said they also found some THC extract, a bottle of liquor, scales and large sums of cash. One of the individuals involved in the incident was able to produce a medical marijuana card.
