The Barrington High School boys ice hockey team picked up a 3-1 victory over Smithfield on Saturday night, Feb. 7.
The win followed a 2-0 loss to Pilgrim on Friday night.
According to the Rhode Island Interscholastic League website, Barrington has a 6-6-1 record and is ranked fifth in the Division I standings.
Barrington fell behind early against Smithfield, giving up a goal in the first period. The score stayed 1-0 through two periods, but Barrington tied it up at 1-1 less than a minute into the third period when Ayden Sheedy scored off an assist from Cody Wood.
Six minutes later, the Eagles were in the lead on a Connor Hayes goal. Wood and Henry Kelsey assisted on the goal.
Kelsey scored an empty-net goal and made it 3-1 with 1:37 left to play in the game.
Dom Bruzzi stopped 49 shots for the Eagles.
Noah Salois got the start in net for Barrington against Pilgrim on Friday night. Salois made 27 saves in the loss. He allowed only one goal; Pilgrim scored an empty-net goal late in the third period.
Win over MB
Barrington scored six straight goals and skated away with a 7-1 win over Moses Brown on Monday, Feb. 10.
Trent Senn and Gavin Quinn scored two goals each, while Kelsey assisted on three goals and Connor Hayes assisted on two. Hayes also scored a goal. Dawson Wood and Sheedy each scored goals.
