The superintendent of Barrington schools is confident the parking lot will be finished in time for the start of school.

Late last week Michael Messore said the main parking lot at the new middle school — it is currently under construction — will be ready for the first day of school on Sept. 3.

Mr. Messore said a binder coat of asphalt will be put down soon and the finish coat will be put down on the weekend of Sept. 27-30.

Also, the superintendent said there are still some parts of the new middle school that are not entirely completed, including the new auditorium. He said crews will be completing the final portions of the project after school each day.

"That work will be taking place after school hours," he said. "Everything will be after school."
