Stella Larisa, 88, of Riverside, died Friday, May 10, 2019 at Warren Skilled Nursing after a year-long illness. She was the daughter of the late Louis Lonardo and Linda (Boragine) Caprio. She was the wife of the late John Larisa Jr., the mother of the late John Larisa III, and sister of the late Louis Lonardo.

Stella was a lunch server in the Barrington Schools for over 40 years, retiring at the age of 82. She was so fond of seeing and talking to the kids each and everyday. She was known for her love of bingo, scratch tickets, dancing, and a good joke. She was a wonderful cook and loved feeding her family pasta sauce, meatballs, big plates of Italian Christmas cookies, and so many other desserts. What made Stella the happiest though, was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her three sons: James of Clearwater, Fla., Edward of Broomfield, Colo., and Louis and his wife, Chris of Barrington, as well as eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, May 15, 2019 from 4 to 7 p.m. in Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Avenue, Riverside. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 10 a.m. in Holy Angels Church, 341 Maple Ave, Barrington. Burial will be in Maria Del Campo Cemetery, Upland Way, Barrington. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Visiting Nurse and Hospice, 1184 E Main Road, Portsmouth RI 02871. Please visit smithmason.com for online condolences.
