Squatters spotted at Zion property in Barrington

Police issue woman no trespass order for vacant campus

Posted

Barrington police were once again called to the former Zion Bible College property, after it was reported that people were illegally squatting inside one of the vacant buildings.

On Friday, June 7, a witness told police he had seen people walking around the campus with bags and sleeping bags. It also appeared that one of the boards covering a window at one of the buildings had been pulled off.

Police officers checked the interior of one of the buildings and eventually found a woman sitting in an area outside the building. Police believe the woman was one of the individuals who was living illegally on the property. Officers issued the woman a no trespass order and drove her to the Riverside town line.
