A Barrington man is warning other residents to be careful with what they leave on their front lawns.
The local man who helps coach a youth sports team said he had recently unloaded some sports gear out of his vehicle and onto his front lawn. A short while later, a "picker" stopped by and began loading the gear into his van.
The local man's family was home at the time and confronted the individual, who was driving a white van with Maine license plates.
Initially the individual was argumentative, stating that he believed the sports gear had been left out with the trash. The local family said the items had been left 15 feet up the driveway and were clearly not left with the trash. The picker eventually relented and returned the gear.
In the past, town officials have cracked down on people who remove items from curbside trash.
