The Barrington Town Council will be recording meeting minutes differently from now on.
At the Nov. 4 meeting, council president Michael Carroll said the town clerk, Meredith DeSisto, will be reducing the amount of information written down when individuals are talking.
The new approach will allow Ms. DeSisto to record which people are speaking and then make the note "discussion ensued." For details of the discussion, people will need to review the video footage of meetings.
Council member Jacob Brier appeared to question the shift in policy, and Teed Avenue resident Ann Strong, a former member of the council, said she did not agree with the change. She said the council was doing a disservice to the public.
Despite the objection, the council voted in favor of the change.
