James J. Bolster, 83, of Sowams Road, Barrington, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 10, 2021.
Born in Los Angeles, Calif., a son of the late Carl and Ruth H. (Clarke) Bolster, he lived in Barrington for three years previously residing in Narragansett.
Mr. Bolster worked in the Miriam Hospital Maintenance Department for 20 years before retiring in 2013.
James earned a master’s degree from Providence College. He was a member of the North Kingstown Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed fishing and traveling.
Mr. Bolster was a United States Naval Officer serving as a Lt. Commander Navy Aviator and was a flight instructor with over 5,000 flight hours.
He is survived by his children, Phillip J. Bolster and his wife Nancy of Warwick, Mary Catherine Weller of Barrington and Jeanne L. Cola and her husband Bob of North Kingstown; a brother, Charles A. Bolster of Los Angeles, Calif.; a sister, Dorothy M. Parsons of Santa Monica, Calif.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Calling hours were held on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 in the W. Raymond Watson Funeral Home, 350 Willett Ave., Riverside followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Drive, Cranston.
