Henrietta “Penny” Bobe, 92, formerly of Barrington and Riverside, died peacefully on Nov. 8, 2021, after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Katharine and Willy Lignau, she held a variety of jobs, from telephone operator to payroll specialist, but the role she loved most was mother. After her retirement, Penny was a dedicated volunteer, reading the newspaper for INSIGHT Radio, and driving for TAP-IN and her many friends.

Penny was the loving mother of Larry Bobe of Michigan, and Coni Ferland and her husband Richard of Lincoln, R.I., and the late Judy Bobe. She was a devoted grandmother to Emily Boudreau, and Sarah Isabella and her husband Paul; and great-grandmother to Alex, Aurora, Jackson and Emma. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Bobe. She is survived by her brother, Willy G. Lignau of New Jersey.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of the Memory Care Unit at Dawn Hill Home in Bristol, R.I., for their loving care.

Calling hours will be Nov. 18, 2021, from 9 to 11a.m. at Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Ave., Riverside, R.I., with service to immediately follow. A private burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to INSIGHT Vision Rehabilitation. 43 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick RI 02888. Please visit www.smithmason.com for online condolences.
