Barrington resident discovers altered mailing address

Posted

A Rumstick Road resident in Barrington stopped into the police station on Wednesday, May 22, to report possible identity theft.

The resident told police he has not been receiving as much mail as normal so he stopped by the post office to check it out. The resident allegedly discovered that someone had changed his mailing address to an address in Georgia.

He also checked with his bank and found that someone had changed the address included on his bank account to an address in Georgia.

Police are still investigating.
