Barrington resident and former Sowams School teacher Jenny Gaynor has written a book designed to inspire, uplift and support those who guide and nurture children every day.
“Calm Inspiration” is rooted in the principles of social emotional learning and offers readers real-life stories and thoughtful reflections.
“Life with kids — whether as a parent, educator or caregiver — is a beautiful yet challenging journey,” stated a press release about the new book. “Between busy schedules, endless to-do lists, and emotional ups and downs, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed.”
“‘Calm Inspiration’ provides readers with honest, relatable insights on embracing life’s imperfections while cultivating gratitude, self-care, and resilience, stated the release. Through engaging anecdotes and practical wisdom, Gaynor encourages readers to embrace both the joys and struggles of raising and educating children, finding valuable lessons in everyday moments.”
“Calm Inspiration” was born from Gaynor’s “Calm Blog” and promotes emotional intelligence, self-awareness and connection.
“With over 20 years of experience as a classroom teacher and a strong background in SEL techniques, she has dedicated her career to helping children, families, and teachers build meaningful relationships and foster well-being,” stated the release.
Gaynor is the founder of Calm Education, an organization dedicated to integrating Social Emotional Learning into the lives of children, families and educators. Gaynor has more than two decades of teaching experience and holds multiple teaching certifications and advanced training in SEL strategies, yoga, and mindfulness.
Gaynor held a public book launch for “Calm Inspiration” in February and will host a special question and answer event at Symposium Books in Providence on Friday, March 28 at 6 p.m.
