Miles Fontaine went 3-for-3 with a home run and a double, scored twice and drove in three runs to pace the Barrington High School baseball team to an 8-1 win against Cumberland on Wednesday, April 16.

The Eagles senior tallied three of Barrington’s 10 hits against the Clippers. Lucas Tanous went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs scored, and Cole Kepner went 1-for-2, walked once and scored a run. Alex Anderson went 2-for-4 with a run scored and Miles Dolan went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

The Eagles opened a 1-0 run in the bottom of the first inning, but Cumberland battled back to tie the game 1-1 in the top of the third. Barrington re-gained the lead with two runs in the bottom of the third and then blew it open with five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Anderson and Nate Coutant shared pitching duties for the Eagles. Anderson started the game and went four inning, scattering four hits while striking out four and allowing one run. Coutant allowed just two hits in three innings of work, and struck out four while not allowing a single walk.
