It was a clean sweep.
The Science Olympiad teams for Barrington High School and Barrington Middle School recently won their respective state championships, and qualified to compete at the Science Olympiad Nationals later this month.
The Barrington High School team earned medals in all but two events at the state Science Olympiad competition, finishing with 33 points. Second place Cranston High School West tallied a distant 61 points, while Pilgrim High School was third with 78 points.
Barrington Middle School’s Science Olympiad team earned medals in all 16 events and captured the state title with 27 points. Gallagher High School finished second with 33 points and North Cumberland High School was third with 45 points.
Both Barrington teams are currently preparing for the Science Olympiad National Championships which will be hosted by Arizona State University, but will be presented virtually this year.
The medal count for the two Barrington teams at the state finals was impressive, as the middle school earned eight gold medals, five silver, and three bronze. The high school team finished with eight gold medals, four silver, and two bronze.
