Eagles defeat Wheeler and Lincoln en route to finals

The Barrington High School girls lacrosse team punched its ticket to the Division I State Finals by defeating Lincoln School 14-9 in the semifinals on Thursday, June 17.

The Eagles will play against Moses Brown in the championship game on Sunday. The game will be played at Cumberland High School at 5 p.m.

Against Lincoln, Barrington's Tess Gagliano scored four goals and Julia Stanchina and Ava Kovolyan each scored three times to lead the Eagles’ attack. Gagliano, Stanchina and Kovolyan also had two assists each.

Reilly Curran and Charlotte McGarry each scored a goal and had an assist, while Charlotte Danyla and Violet Gagliano scored single goals. 

Audrey Keefe made seven saves in net for the Eagles.

Barrington opened the Division I playoffs with a commanding 18-6 win over Wheeler School at Barrington’s Victory Field on Tuesday.

The Division I Finals will mark the second time Barrington has played against Moses Brown this year — the Eagles fell to the Quakers 24-8 during the first game of the season. Moses Brown has not lost a single division game this year. 

Barrington finished the regular season with two losses — one against Moses Brown and a 19-18 loss to Lincoln School on May 20.
