• Summer running program open to middle school-age students: Eagle Speed, a very popular summer running program for middle school-age students, will begin later this month. The eight-week program will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting on Tuesday, June 28. The Tuesday sessions will meet at the St. Andrew’s Farm Field on Middle Highway, and the Thursday sessions will meet at the Barrington High School track. The 16-session program cost $35 per athlete or $50 for a family. Jon Barnes and Larson Gunness will lead the workouts — this club is open to all middle schoolers and is not officially affiliated with Barrington Schools. Each practice begins with dynamic stretching, then breaks into running and core work, such as push-ups, abdominal crunches and planks. Please email Coach Gunness at larsongunness@gmail.com  to register an athlete, or for more information.

• Interested in playing summer hockey for BHS? Any player entering Barrington High School in September who is interested playing summer hockey should contact Kevin Croke at kcroke@eastprovidenceri.gov. The season runs from late June through mid-August.
