Barrington beat Mt. Hope 22-6, in their annual Thanksgiving Day football game in Barrington on Thursday morning. The now Eagles have an 18-9 series lead over the Huskies.

Eagles devour Huskies, 22-6, in annual Thanksgiving Day rivalry

Barrington High School junior quarterback Brigham Dunphy and the offense scored 14 points in the second half to beat Mt. Hope 22-6, in their annual Thanksgiving Day football game in Barrington on Thursday morning.

Barrington scored in the first quarter to take a 6-0 lead. Dunphy rolled to his right to avoid the Huskies pass rush and thew a pass that was tipped into the air and landed in the trusty hands of teammate Jonathan Adamson. The senior running back rambled ten yards down the right sideline for the touchdown.

A Huskies bad snap rolled through the end zone for a safety to add to the lead, 8-0.

Mt. Hope scored on a razzle-dazzle play with 14 seconds left in the first half to close the gap 8-6. Huskies sophomore quarterback Aidan Ramaglia took the snap and threw a pass to Jordan Pompey and he quickly threw a pass to Denson Bradford running a crossing route. Bradford got behind the Eagles defense for an easy 6 points to close the gap before halftime, 8-6.

In the second half, Dunphy rolled to his right twisted and threw to the left flat to running back Mark Bernardo. The junior sped down the left sideline and into the end zone for an Eagles touchdown. Dunphy found junior receiver Cole Reed in the end zone for a two-point conversion to make the score 16-6 with 9 minutes to play in the third quarter.

Adamson found the end zone again in the fourth quarter. He took the handoff from Dunphy and ran a sweep to the right pylon, diving into the end zone over Mt. Hope defensive back Mason Almeida to pad the lead, 22-6.
Adamson and Mt. Hope's Jalen Kopecky were named players of the game after the contest.
The win gives Barrington an 18-9 series lead over Mt. Hope.
