The Barrington School Building Committee is hosting “Construction Workshop Week” from June 12 to 15.

The event is part of the district’s work preparing for future school construction work in Barrington. According to a press release from the district, the Barrington School Building Committee is currently preparing Stage II of its “Necessity of School Construction” application for the Rhode Island Department of Education. 

“Construction Workshop Week” consists of four different events at four different Barrington schools. Each event begins at 6 p.m. and features a brief school building tour, a short informational presentation, and time for community questions and input.

The Sowams School tour is Monday, June 12; the Primrose Hill School tour is Tuesday, June 13; the Nayatt School tour is Wednesday, June 14; and a community discussion will be at Barrington Middle School on Thursday, June 15.

“The community discussion on June 15 will include an overview of progress on Stage II, an introduction to the selected architectural design firm, and an opportunity for community feedback,” stated a press release from the district.

“These tours are open to all Barrington community members. Residents are encouraged to attend the building tour that best fits their schedule regardless of their neighborhood school. If you are unable to attend any of these events, you can submit questions to the Construction Jamboard.”

Barrington district officials said Hampden Meadows School and Barrington High School will be included in future community engagement events.
