Barrington Police plan to charge a resident following a hit-and-run accident that occurred on Wednesday, June 18.

Police responded to the Wampanoag Trail at about 9:50 p.m. on June 18 for a report of an accident. Police said a small dark-colored SUV struck two other vehicles, including a Rhode Island Energy truck, while trying to pass them on the Trail.

Police said the suspect vehicle later crashed into a guardrail in East Providence. Police said the driver, a Barrington man, was transported to a hospital.

Barrington Police said they will charge the driver with duty to stop accident resulting, reckless driving, and numerous motor vehicle violations. Police said they expect East Providence PD to charge the man also.
