Barrington Police charged Riverside resident George Crandall Packer, Jr. with indecent exposure following a surveillance operation last week.

On Tuesday, Sept. 13, a Barrington woman stopped into the police station after a man drove by her home and exposed himself to her. Police believe the man may have been the same individual who had exposed himself to a woman on Brook Street and a woman on Richmond Avenue. In the recent incident, a Grant Street resident was mowing her lawn when the suspect drove by her home and then exposed himself, police said.

A day later, on Wednesday, Sept. 14, Barrington Police conducted surveillance on Packer, whom they had identified as a suspect in the recent incidents.

Officers followed Packer's vehicle as he drove through Seekonk, Mass. and then through Barrington, police said.

Officers allegedly witnessed Packer’s vehicle approach two women while they were walking on Nayatt Road. Police said the women appeared to be shocked by the encounter, stepping back from the vehicle which then drove away.

Police then approached the women and asked them about the incident — police said one of the women said the man in the vehicle had just exposed himself.

Police tracked down the vehicle and spoke to the driver, identified as Packer. Police said Packer admitted to the crime. He was then charged with indecent exposure-disorderly conduct-first offense.
