Barrington Middle School courts nearly ready to reopen

Final walk-through needed, says school official

Posted

On Thursday afternoon, a group of teenagers played a game of pickup basketball on one of the new courts outside Barrington Middle School.

But while the courts appear to be nearly finished, school superintendent Michael Messore is asking people to refrain from using them. He said it will not be long before the courts are officially opened and available to everyone.

"We're just waiting to do the walk-through," Mr. Messore said, referencing the final step before the courts are ready for use.

In addition to the two full-size basketball courts built on the middle school campus, there are also tennis courts. The recreational facilities are part of the new Barrington Middle School construction project.

Mr. Messore said it will be a bit longer before the baseball field or the other athletic fields at the middle school will be ready for use. Those fields need to be re-seeded again this fall, he said.
