The Bagels Etc. Yankees outlasted the University Orthopedics Cubs to win the Barrington Little League Majors Division Championship recently. Bagels Etc. won the game 4-2 in extra innings.
The game was a pitcher's duel between Will Coutant, of the Yankees, and Chase Corcoran, of the Cubs. Chase pitched 5 and 1/3 innings, and Will pitched 6 innings.
In the seventh inning, with the score tied 2-2, Sam Hardison hit a clutch single that drove in two runs, giving the Yankees the 4-2 lead. Xavier Maddox struck out the side in the bottom of the seventh to secure the victory.
Members of the Yankees are Angelo Bruneau, Caleb Clark, Will Coutant, Sam Hardison, Holden Magnussen, Sam Hurley, Tyler Lunardelli, Xavier Maddox, Zachary Oppler and Miller Junkin. The team is coached by Ralph Coutant, Mike Lunardelli and Alex Anderson.
