Colin McDermott leads Eagles with career-high 28 points
Caleb Satisfield scored 12 first quarter points to help the Barrington High School boys basketball team build leads of 22-4 and 27-9 after the first quarter and 50-21 at halftime as the home team defeated Smithfield 83-49 in Division I play on Monday night, Jan. 6.
Colin McDermott knocked down five three-pointers and had a career high 28 points to pace the Eagles. Ryan Rigamonti added 15 points. Satisfield finished with 14 and Gabe Tostes added 11.
Smithfield fell to 2-4.
On Friday night the Eagles traveled to Providence and came away with a 41-33 victory over Mount Pleasant. The Eagles’ defense allowed them to overcome a slow start, as they were limited to five first quarter points.
The team rallied to take a 17-16 lead into halftime and Barrington’s pressure defense enabled the visitors to outscore the Kilties 12-2 in the third period and take a double digit lead into the last quarter.
Satisfield had a game-high 16 points to lead Barrington while McDermott was 5-6 from the free throw line and joined Satisfield in double figures.
Barrington is 7-1 overall and 6-1 in league play, and will travel to LaSalle on Thursday, before hosting Classical on Monday.
