Barrington's Stella Densley recently had the unique opportunity to perform at a large music festival.

Stella, a rising freshman at Barrington, performed at Lollapalooza in Chicago with the School of Rock All-Stars program. 

“It was honestly one of the most life-changing things I have ever done,” said Stella. She played a 50-minute set on stage and met a number of notable artists including Jaden Smith, Maggie Rogers, and Hozier who performed at the same festival.  

To be an All-Star is the highest level one can achieve in the School of Rock franchise. It is an opportunity for teenagers that exhibit talent through their two-tier audition process to have an authentic touring experience. 

The tour covered a few major locations. Starting out in St. Louis, the group drove to Cinncinatti, Indianapolis, and Chicago. While they were in Chicago, they took a day to record music at Wax Trax Recording Studio. 

Stella was among the youngest on tour and is the youngest in her house band where she plays the bass guitar at School of Rock in Seekonk, Mass. When she was only eight years old, she joined School of Rock as a vocalist and has been in the program for more than six years. Music is “definitely something that is going to stick with me my whole life,” she said. 

As for her own music outside of School of Rock, Stella said she “is still trying to find her own sound” and has “some things in the mix.” For anyone looking to grow and invest in their music, Stella says “School of Rock is a great place to start.”
