A number of Barrington Little League All-Star baseball teams were scheduled to play in District II tournament games this week.
The Barrington Junior Division All-Stars defeated East Providence 12-0 in an elimination bracket game on Monday night, July 8, at Barrington High School's Victory Field.
Barrington scored four runs in the top of the first inning to take a commanding lead. Meanwhile, Trevor Snow, Mitchell Ivatts, Will McConaghy and Nick Scandura shared pitching duties for Barrington.
Barrington is scheduled to play against Pineview on Wednesday, July 10, in Pawtucket.
The Barrington 12U Majors Division All-Stars celebrated a 4-1 win over Rumford in an elimination bracket game on Sunday night, July 7.
Barrington opened the District II Majors tournament with a tough loss to Bristol, but has bounced back with wins over Portsmouth (3-1), Newport (13-0) and now Rumford. Barrington was scheduled to play against Tiverton on Tuesday.
The Barrington 11U Majors Division All-Stars opened their district tournament with a 7-1 win over Pineview and were scheduled to play against Bristol on Tuesday.
Barrington's 9-10 All-Star team was scheduled to play in an opening round game against Portsmouth on Tuesday, July 9. And Barrington's entry in the Ron Silva Tournament is scheduled to play against Tiverton on Wednesday, July 10 in Barrington. The local team opened the tournament with a 17-5 loss to Pineview on July 2.
The Barrington Senior Division All-Star team reached the District II finals late last month. After opening the district tournament with a 2-1 loss to Rumford, Barrington battled back with wins over Pineview (4-2) and Bristol (3-1) before falling again to Rumford, 7-4.
