Barbara J. Metz, 102, formerly of Barrington

Barbara J. (Gilbert) Metz, 102, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2019. Originally from Barrington, she also resided in East Providence, RI, Plattsburg, NY and Dalton, NH. She was the daughter of the late Arlo and Elizabeth (Milne) Gilbert.

She worked as a cook in the Barrington School system until retirement, and was a long time member of the Eastern Star. She was an avid reader and loved doing puzzles and hand quilting.

She was the wife of the late Walker A. Metz, and mother to the late Jay Peter Metz.

She is survived by a son, Richard Metz of Barrington, a daughter Marilyn Acker of Plattsburg, NY and a daughter Roberta McCusker of Dalton, NH. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grand, great and great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the calling hours, everyone is welcome to celebrate Barbara's life at a Graveside Service in Swan Point Cemetery 585 Blackstone Blvd, Providence, RI 02906 on Wednesday June 12, 2019 at 10 a.m.
