Westport police: Three DUIs in three days

Monday, Jan. 26

A Robert Street caller complained of a disturbance at 3:34 p.m.

Police received numerous reports of road hazards following the previous day’s storm.

Police cited one driver, and responded to one accident, over the course of the day.

Tuesday, Jan. 27

A Sycamore Lane resident reported identity theft at 10:42 a.m.

A larceny call came in from Brookside Avenue at 11:07 a.m.

Police investigated a disturbance phoned in from Green Street at 1:46 p.m.

Police assisted a disabled motorist and responded to three accidents over the course of the day.

Wednesday, Jan. 28

Police assisted after an Adamsville Road 911 caller reported a suspicious vehicle at 4:45 a.m.

Police were asked to keep the peace on Old Bedford Road at 12:18 p.m.

Debra Correia, 58, of 16 Briggs Road, Apt. 2, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage, and driving while in possession of an open container, after she was involved in an accident on Drift Road at 3:25 p.m.

Theodore James Kaegael Jr., 73, of 509 Cornell Road, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and cited for a marked lanes violation, after a caller reported a motor vehicle violation on Main Road at 4:32 p.m.

An Orlando Avenue resident reported the violation of a restraining order at 5:22 p.m.

A 911 caller from State Road reported a disturbance at 5:43 p.m.

Numerous callers reported road hazards throughout town over the course of the day.

Police cited four drivers, warned one, responded to four accidents, and assisted one disabled motorist over the course of the day.

Thursday, Jan. 29

Andre Raposo, 38, of 199 Columbia St., Apt. 1, Fall River, was arrested on an unspecified warrant after police received a shoplifting complaint from State Road at 11:06 a.m.

A Hix Bridge Road caller reported larceny, forgery or fraud at 1:01 p.m.

Police cited five drivers, warned one, towed one vehicle, assisted one disabled motorist, and responded to one accident over the course of the day.

Friday, Jan. 30

Police tried unsuccessfully to serve a warrant on Briggs Road at 8:45 a.m.

Police cited six drivers, warned two, and responded to one accident over the course of the day.

Saturday, Jan. 31

Ryan Pray Duquette, 39, of 124 Lepes Road, Tiverton, was charged with driving under the influence of alchol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle, and cited for a marked lanes violation, after he was involved in an accident on Route 88 at 11:32 p.m.

Police cited four drivers, warned two, arrested one, and responded to one accident over the course of the day.

Sunday, Feb. 1

Police were asked to keep the peace on Charlotte White Road extension at 3:12 p.m.

A Loan Street resident reported a neighbor dispute at 5:13 p.m.

Police cited one driver and responded to one accident over the course of the day.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986.
