A fire caused $100,000 damage at Coaksett Commons at 875 State Road on Friday evening, May 9. The cause of the fire is still under investigation. There were no injuries.

Town Meeting voters mustered the two-thirds majority needed to create an adult entertainment zone on Route 6, after first removing six lots considered prime spots for future commercial development. The article passed with 108 votes "for" and 53 "against." The lots that were removed from the zone are near the intersection with Sanford Road.

Town Meeting voters approved a $7 million fire station for Central Village Tuesday and a budget totaling $29.2 million. The fire station was the last item on the first night of the annual Town Meeting, which 328 voters attended.
