The annual Westport Fair will bring summer fun to town for the 62nd year from Wednesday, July 12 though Sunday, July 16.

Fair committee members have kept the traditional New England fair a popular attraction by providing entertainment for all ages.

Once again events and exhibits are being planned that in clude tractor pulls, 4-H youth showmanship competitions of farm animals, family entertainment of bands, magic shows, Toe Jam Puppet, quilt exhibit, vegetable and flower exhibits, pet photo contest, arts and crafts, food vendors, a carnival and more.

The annual chicken barbecue is held Saturday evening and is served from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets will be on sale Wednesday through Friday evening at the fair T-shirt booth or from a fair committee member. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children.

Fair gates open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening 6 p.m. Saturday gates open at 11 a.m. and on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Admission to the fair is $5 — children under 12 free. For a detailed schedule of the fair, visit their website www.westportfair.com.

The Run for the Fair 5K and Kids’ Fun will be held on Sunday, July 9, rain or shine. To register online visit: www.runforthefair5K.racewire.com. Or visit them on Facebook, WestportFairRunForTheFair5K. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the Westport Fair Scholarship.

The Westport Fair Committee this year awarded seven scholarships to: Chelsey Benoit, Logan Branco, Connor Brown, Colby Hawes, Samuel Morra, Jaely Pereira and Mariah Shields.
