Letter: Senator Warren cares about the rest of us

To the editor:

We need to re-elect Senator Elizabeth Warren to represent Massachusetts working families in the Senate.

Senator Warren speaks for the 99% of us working to level the economic playing field. The top 1% have seen their income tripled, while the rest of us has seen wages stagnate. Consumer protections, loans and student loans, credit card reforms — Senator Warren has worked for all of that and more.

Senator Warren knows that a just country is a strong country. A humane and healthy country is a strong country. Health care is a human right. Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare are human rights. People who have worked hard all their lives should not have to choose, when they receive Social Security, if they will eat or fill their prescriptions, pay their rent or pay their heating bill. And Senator Warren is fighting to protect those rights for the good of all of us. As a wise man once said, “those who can help those who can’t.”

Environmental protection is another issue Senator Warren has been deeply concerned about. Clean, renewable energy is not only good for the planet, it creates jobs that expand our economy. Countries around the world know this and are achieving great economic and environmental gains. Senator Warren is determined to see the United States forge ahead as well.

We need Senator Elizabeth Warren to speak for all of us. Vote to re-elect Senator Warren on November 6!
