Edna R. Machamer, 93, Westport

Edna R. "Ruth" (Rutherford) Machamer, 93, of Berkley, formerly of Westport, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018, at home. She was the wife of the late Mahlon E. "Mac" Machamer.

Mrs. Machamer was born in Fellowsville, WV, daughter of the late Floyd L. and Nellie R. (Wolfe) Rutherford. She enjoyed gardening and bird watching and was an avid reader. She loved baking and was known for her Christmas cookies and pies, a family favorite.

Survivors include her two sons, Bruce E. Machamer and his wife Sharron of Somerset, and Craig A. Machamer and his wife Jackie of Berkley; her daughter, Linda R. Machamer of Cape May, NJ; five grandchildren, Justin, Lisa, Paul, Lindsey and Lucas; two great grandchildren, Timothy and Anthony; along with many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be Friday, March 23, at the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, at 11 a.m.

Calling hours will be Thursday from 6-8 p.m.

Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Wildlife Federation, P.O. Box 1583, Merrifield, VA 22116-1583 or at NWF.org.
