Diane B. Cambra, 82, Westport

Diane B. (Smith) Cambra, 82, of Westport, passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at Hathaway Manor. She was the wife of the late Albert P. Cambra.

Mrs. Cambra was born in Dedham, Mass., daughter of the late Dana and Lillian (Hogberg) Smith, and had been a longtime resident of Westport. She was a member of the Westport Point United Methodist Church, Westport Point.

Survivors include her son, Dana C. Cambra of San Diego, Calif.; her three daughters, Dawn C. Cole of New Bedford, Nancy L. Cox of Westport and Judith R. Palmer of Westport; three grandchildren, Justin, Christina and Alexandria; three great grandchildren, Kyle, Trevor and Mya; and several nieces and nephews.

Private arrangements, under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, will be held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Westport Council on Aging, 75 Reed Rd., Westport, MA 02790.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
