Audre R. (Theriault) Manchester, 80, of Westport, Mass., entered into eternal life on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at the Catholic Memorial Home. Audre was the beloved wife of Richard G. Manchester for almost 53 years.

Audre was born in Waltham, Mass., on July 3, 1937, and raised in nearby Watertown, and was the loving daughter of the late Rene P. and Justine A. (Derian) Theriault. She attended the Chandler School for Women in Boston.

Audre and Richard raised their two daughters in Waltham and retired as longtime residents of Westport. She met her husband, Richard, while they were both employed at the Raytheon Microwave & Power Tube Division.

Audre’s primary focus was that of homemaker, and she was completely devoted to her beloved family. Later in life she returned to work, enjoying her years with the Waltham Public School Department.

She and Richard had a special fondness for square dancing. Other activities she enjoyed were bowling, golfing and playing Bridge. Audre was an avid swimmer and loved boating, sailing and kayaking. A great pleasure for her was her involvement with the Acoaxet Club Ladies Golf Association, where she is a past president.

Audre was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Westport.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughters: Pamela A. Manchester Maher and her husband David Maher of Barrington, R.I., and Deborah A. Manchester and her partner Josh Netz of Medford; five grandchildren: Cabot, Caroline, Hunter & Andrew Maher and Avery Netz; along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends and relatives are invited to celebrate Audre’s life at a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 5, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church in Westport. Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452 or to Catholic Memorial Home, 2446 Highland Ave., Fall River, MA 02720.
