Monday, Jan. 29

Police assisted a motorist whose car dropped a wheel at Franklin and Main streets.

Police spoke to a dog owner walking his dog at the Warren Town Beach.

Police were called to Market Street for a “matter regarding ownership of television.”

Someone tampered with a control box which regulates the alarm and sprinkler system for the Coffee Depot and Federal Hill Pizza.

Tuesday, Jan. 30

A woman from Park Street called to report that she’d let her daughter use her car, but she was overdue in returning it.

Police were called to Main Street for a neighborhood dispute.

Police spoke to a driver who was spotted driving on Child Street with an unsecured child in the car.

Police responded to Baker Street for a person burning paper.

Police got a call about a woman who walked into a Main Street business and started “asking questions that made no sense.”

Police returned a set of keys to the owner after they were found on Main Street.

Wednesday, Jan. 31

Administrators at the Hugh Cole School refused to release a student to the custody of her father, after he appeared to be under the influence when he came to the school to pick her up. Police noted the man was not happy, but left with no incident. Administrators notified the mother, who came to the school to pick up the child.

Matthew Anthony Vitale, 26, of Foster, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, third or subsequent offense, after police pulled him over on Market Street at 5:23 p.m.

Police got a call about a man walking in and out of traffic on Metacom Avenue. Officers checked it out and noted that he was slightly intoxicated; he was driven home.

Thursday, Feb. 1

Paperwork was reported stolen from a car on Liberty Street.

A caller spotted a coyote on Read Avenue just after 8 p.m.

Friday, Feb. 2

Police got a call from a bus monitor, who said a student wanted to report an issue. She told officers that a man in a car exposed himself to her while she was on the bus. Since the incident occurred in Bristol, Warren police passed on information to the Bristol Police Department.

A caller told police that a Facebook friend contacted her and told her she’d been assaulted. 

A woman complained to police that her ex-boyfriend had not picked up tier daughter, per a Family Court agreement.

Scott R. Harris, 36, of 14 Beechwood Court, was arrested at his home on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant for failing to appear in court on an outstanding matter. Mr. Harris was charged by Warren police in June 2015 with one count each of first and second degree child abuse.

A Third Street man complained that kids living upstairs were too loud.

James F. Drolet, 27, of 20 Union St., third floor, was arrested on three bench warrants from Sixth Division District Court, after police were called to Union Street for a disturbance.

Derek J. Renaud, 35, of 186 Vernon St., was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, third or subsequent offense, and being a fugitive from justice, after Warren police were contacted by officials in Seekonk and alerted that they were chasing a car into Warren via Market Street.

Saturday, Feb. 3

The animal control officer got a call about a cat on top of a roof at Main and Vernon streets. The cat came down prior to the officer’s arrival.

Nikolas S. Hanuschak, 37, of 5 Child St., Apt. 4, was arrested on a Sixth Division District Court bench warrant after police were called to his apartment building for a report of an argument among tenants.

Joshua J. Vasquez, 28, of Providence, was arrested by East Providence police on a Warren warrant for reckless driving/drag racing/eluding police, second offense.

Sunday, Feb. 4

Police and fire crews responded to Serpentine Road at 1:21 a.m. for a report of a car that struck a utility pole. When they arrived, officers found the driver gone. But they looked up the registered owner’s name and requested that Bristol police go to his home. Bristol police found the man there, but he said the car had been stolen. No charges have yet been filed.

A Union Street woman looking to find out why she’d been kicked out of her apartment by the landlord spoke to police officers, who advised her that it was a civil matter.

Loose cattle were spotted mooo-ving around on Country Road.

A Market Street man called police to report that money that he’d loaned to a friend had not been returned. Police spoke to the complainant, who ended up deciding to let the person keep the money.

A man attending a Super Bowl party on Thompson Street called to ask for an escort home, complaining that multiple people at the party would not let him leave.
