Warren police logs: Boys charged with stealing car

Monday, Sept. 3

Two dogs that went missing on Lauren Lane and Main Street were reunited with their owners, the animal control officer reported.

Police helped a man who asked for officers’ assistance in installing a car seat.

A Union Street woman called for a rescue after she was scratched on the eye by a cat.

Tuesday, Sept. 4

Fire crews were called to Water Street for a tree fire.

Chad K. Borges, 28, of Bristol, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, after police pulled him over on Main Street just before 6:30 a.m.

Police lent a hand after getting a call about an infant locked in a car on Asylum Road.

A Village Road resident reported receiving harassing text messages.

Police lent a hand after a caller told them her father needed assistance with a fuse panel.

Wednesday, Sept. 5

A Parker Avenue man reported either the loss or theft of a license plate.

Rescue crews transported a heavily intoxicated patient to the hospital from Main Street. The call came in at 8:20 a.m.

A Child Street woman reported being harassed by her ex-husband.

Erin M. Sullivan, 35, of Bristol, was arrested on a Rhode Island Superior Court warrant after being pulled over on Kickemuit Road just before 1 p.m.

A Market Street woman reported being harassed by her upstairs neighbor.

A Child Street caller told police he’d contacted the state DCYF about the sexual assault of a juvenile by a sibling.

A Market Street woman told police she’d been harassed by her landlord.

A Barker Avenue woman told police that someone struck her parked car overnight.

A Market Street woman called police just before 6:30 p.m. to report that her daughter told her that several people had walked by her home and looked into the windows, and were now sitting in a car outside the home.

A woman stopped in to the station to pick up an ATM card that had been found on Main Street.

A Market Street woman told police that her daughter’s friends witness her landlord’s son trying to break into her apartment.

Erica A. Campopiano, 39, of North Providence, was charged with driving under the influence of liquor or drugs, first offense, BAC .1 to .15, after police pulled her over on Metacom Avenue just before midnight.

Thursday, Sept. 6

A caller from Main Street complained about neighbors playing loud music around a fire pit.

A caller from Child Street asked that police check on the well-being of two disheveled-looking children locked out of their house. Police looked into it and found no problem; the kids were playing outside with a parent.

A caller reported two suspicious men in hard hats going door to door on Fairview Avenue.

Police looked for but could not locate an aggressive driver reported on Water Street just after noon.

A Main Street woman reported that her car might have been broken, but later reported that her son might have gotten into the car.

Flavio L. Fortes, 30, of Lincoln, was charged with driving after the denial, suspension or revocation of his license, first offense, after police pulled him over on Market Street at 4:45 p.m.

A Stuart Street caller reported a man dumping items at a neighboring home. Police learned the man had been evicted and was just trying to remove items from the property.

A Market Street woman told police that an unknown person parked a car in her driveway.

Friday, Sept. 7

A caller found an old rusty bike at the Warren Town Beach; police contacted DPW workers, who came handpicked it up.

A caller from Market Street reported a crow sharing the bench she was sitting on.

A passer-by flagged down and officer to report that there might be a disturbance outside a Market Street property. The officer checked it out and discovered two friends horse playing.

Two boys, 14 and 15, were ahargedwith driving without the consent of the owner and conspiracy, after a caller from Third Street reported to police that one of them took a family member’s car without permission. Additionally, the 15-year-old was also charged with driving without or on an expired license, first offense.

Saturday, Sept. 8

Police checked out a suspicious occupied car parked on Main Street at 1:40 a.m. The occupant told an officer he’d just pulled over to use a nearby wifi signal.

A caller from Market Street reported a woman sleeping in a car at 5:04 a.m. She told officers who checked it out that she’d gone into the car for a smoke, but had then fallen asleep.

A caller told police that a person holding a yard sale on Market Street was selling guns. Police checked it out.

A bike reported stolen by a Market Street woman was found outside the home, police determined.

A caller told police that a group of kids were harassing people on the bike path, near Wood Street. Police searched for but could not find them.

A Lyndon Street resident complained about a panhandler in the area just after 5 p.m.

Loud music was reported on Homestead Avenue just after 7 p.m.

A Davis Street woman told police that she could hear people inside a vacant unit in her duplex.

Sunday, Sept. 9

Robert E. Karnes, 58, of 700 Metacom Ave., Apt. 224, was charged with domestic simple assault, domestic disorderly conduct and domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone, after police were called to Metacom Avenue at 12:51 a.m. for a disturbance.

A caller reported finding a paper bag with glass inside. An officer came down, picked it up and threw it out.

A caller complained about people fishing off Main Street.

An anonymous caller reported a man on Main Street shooting at his car. Police checked it out and spoke to multiple people in the area, but none reported hearing or seeing anything.

A Water Street woman told police that a stranger contacted her through Facebook and asked if she wanted to buy drugs.

Monday, Sept. 10

a  passer-by reported a road rage incident on Main Street just before 1 a.m.

Jeffrey Arnet Bento, 31, of Riverside, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, first offense, and refusals to submit to a chemical test, after police pulled him over on Arlington Avenue at 1:43 a.m.

Police dispersed a man reported sleeping in his car on Franklin Street at 3:47 a.m.
