Police got a report of a juvenile “hanging around for a while” in a car on Water Street. Police said there was no problem; he was just waiting on a friend.

Tuesday, Jan. 2

Police were asked to check on the well-being of a family with infant on Croade Street, as a caller reported that the family’s windows looked frozen. Police checked it out and found that there was heat in the building, and the child was fine.

A caller complained that a woman was collecting cans from recycling bins around Water Street.

Police returned a purse to its owner after it was found on Metacom Avenue.

Police and fire crews got a call about a water main break in a building on Metacom Avenue.

Wednesday, Jan. 3

The animal control officer got a call that a swan was stuck in ice and water at Water Street. The bird flew off when approached.

Police spoke to kids who were spotted playing on ice in the Kickemuit River.

Police and fire crews got a call about a water main break on Middle Street.

A caller complained about a panhandler at Broad and Main streets.

DEM was called out for a dead deer on Vernon Street.

Thursday, Jan. 4

DPW workers reported numerous cars parked on the street in violation of the town’s snow ban. Warren Police Lt. Roy Borges said later that the town wrote xx tickets on cars that violated the ban.

A Metacom Avenue woman complained that a plow driver pushed snow onto her property.

Lucas M. Parker Sr., 24, of 653 Metacom Ave., was arrested at 8:30 p.m. following an altercation at his home and charged with domestic simple assault/battery, domestic vandalism/malicious injury to property and domestic disorderly conduct.

Friday, Jan. 5

A Dyer Street resident called police at 2:52 a.m. to complain about the sound from a neighbor’s snowblower.

Police received numerous reports of cars stuck in the snow across town, including one that had driven into a ditch on Serpentine Road.

Saturday, Jan. 6

The landlord of a Market Street apartment requested a no trespass order against a former tenant.

Police returned a found wallet and cell phone to their owner.

A caller told police that a family member was using narcotics.

Christopher J. Robinson, 35, of Bristol, was arrested on a Bristol warrant for violating a no contact order, third offense, domestic vandalism/malicious injury to property, third offense, and domestic disorderly conduct.

The owner of a home in Bagy Wrinkle Cove called police with concerns that the weight of ice on her roof might cause structural damage. The fire department came out and noted no damage to the roof.

A State Street woman called police to let them know that her doors would not shut property since the snow storm.

A Thompson Street man complained that a friend took his alcohol and money.

Sunday, Jan. 7

A Market Street resident complained at 12:22 a.m. about the noise her upstairs neighbors were making.

A caller in a car on Metacom Avenue reported being tailgated.

Police got a call about possible narcotics activity on Child Street.

Kids were spotted on the ice near the Warren Town Beach, and were advised to get back onto solid ground.

A caller complained about a panhandler on Main Street.

A ruptured water pipe drew police and fire crews to a home on Homestead Avenue. Soon after, a similar call came in from Main Street.
