Meet candidates at public forum later this month

Candidates for public office in Warren will meet constituents and debate the issues during a public candidates' forum at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Warren Town Hall.

The night is sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Rhode Island, East Bay Newspapers, Full Channel and the East Bay Chamber of Commerce, and will be moderated by East Bay Newspapers.

Scheduled to appear are District 67 candidates Daryl Gould (L) and Rep. Jason Knight (D); District 68 candidates William Hunt (L) and Laufton Ascencao (D); Warren Town Council candidates Steven Calenda (I), Keri Cronin (D), Joseph DePasquale (I), John Hanley (I), Brandt Heckert (D), Barry Lial (I), Keith Phillips (D) and June Speakman (D).

A "meet and greet" starts at 6:30 p.m. and the forums begin at 7 p.m. Residents who attend are encouraged to ask questions, which they can write on index cards that will be presented to candidates during the forum portion of the evening. The moderator will choose which questions to ask.
