Huskies running back Dylan Martins ran for a 143 yards on 24 attempts and scored two first quarter touchdowns to lead Mt. Hope over Classical, 23-0. The win clinched a playoff game at Moses Brown on Saturday at noon.

“The team played really well, a complete game. They played well in all phases of the game. We had long, sustained drives on offense and shut them out defensively,” said head coach Thomas Del Santo Jr.

Martins capped off two long, sustained Mt. Hope drives, scoring on a 3 yard run and and an 8 yard run in the first quarter, giving the Huskies a 14-0 lead with two Zach DaCosta extra point kicks. DaCosta also kicked a 27 yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

“The offensive is playing really well as we enter the playoffs,” said the coach.

With the two score lead, the Huskies kept the ball on the ground giving most of the carries to Martins. Max Moskala ran for 30 yards on six carries. Jeff Silvia ran for 24 yards on four carries and quarterback Matt DeFelice ran for 13 yards and scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter.
