Harriette L. Lapointe, 64 of Bristol, died Monday Jan. 8 2018, at home.

She was born in Providence, a daughter of the late Paul E. and Helen Mary (Wojtowicz) Lapointe.

Harriette, was a Teacher and Librarian for over 39 years and worked for the Bristol Warren Regional School District for over 20 years.

She has a Master’s Degree in Library Sciences from University of Rhode Island.

She has been living in Bristol for the last 2 years, coming from Warren and previously Bristol.

Harriette was a parishioner of St. Mary of the Bay Church, and was a volunteer at Blithewold.

She was a member of the Bayberry Garden Club, and a member of the American Library Association, and The American Association of School Librarians for over 30 years.

She was the Teacher of the Year at Colt – Andrews School in Bristol.

Harriette is survived by her brothers William M. Lapointe and his wife Elizabeth of Berkley Ma, John Lapointe and his wife Christine of Fall River. Her sisters Catherine Poisson and her husband Jean (John) of North Dartmouth, MA. , Pauline Brodeur and her late husband Robert of Westport MA.

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews. Nicole Davis and her husband John, Daniel Poisson and his wife Amanda, Alex Lapointe, Eric Lapointe, Sara Lapointe, and Connor Lapointe.

Harriette is also survived by her great nieces and nephews Joshua, Ryan, Audrey, Rebecca, and Nathan.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday January 20, 2018 at 10:00am in St. Mary of the Bay Parish, 645 Main Street , Warren, RI .

Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Calling hours are Thursday January 18, 2018 from 4 – 8pm, in the SMITH FUNERAL and MEMORIAL SERVICES, 8 Schoolhouse Road, Warren , RI.
