Gilda L. Medeiros, 97, of Warren, passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 in Warren Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Born in Warren, a daughter of the late John and Etelvina (Barboza) Medeiros, she was a lifelong resident on Vernon Street in Warren.

Ms. Medeiros worked as an assembler at Coats & Clark and Dixon Manufacturing for many years before retiring.

She was the sister of the late Mary “Connie” Sylvia, Minnie Costa, Isabelle Reilly, and John and Joseph Medeiros, and is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.mm. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 500 Metacom Ave., Warren. Burial will be in St. Jean the Baptiste Cemetery in Warren.

Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the Warren Rescue, 1 Joyce St., Warren, RI 02885. Arrangements are in the care of Wilbur-Romano Funeral Home, Warren. For tributes and condolences, visit www.wilbur-romano.com.

A lifelong Portsmouth resident, Jim graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1982 and earned a journalism degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1986. He's worked two different stints at East Bay Newspapers, for a total of 18 years with the company so far. When not running all over town bringing you the news from Portsmouth, Jim listens to lots and lots and lots of music, watches obscure silent films from the '20s and usually has three books going at once. He also loves to cook crazy New Orleans dishes for his wife of 25 years, Michelle, and their two sons, Jake and Max.
